New Twists On Old Design Ideas

Wood Paneling

Wood paneling is one of the newest design trends. This isn't the paneling from decades ago, but a fresh way of incorporating wood as an accent wall. Wood always brings warmth and texture to a room and blends well with any decor. Try a wall of reclaimed wood planks with contemporary furnishings for an interesting twist.

If you're a fan of HGTV's "Fixer Upper", you know that shiplap has made a big comeback. I remember seeing it on the walls in my grandparents' attics. Now it's front and center when restoring an older home or adding character to a new one.

Paneling comes in many woods and finishes. Here is an example of a decorative wall panel in our showroom in Loveland. You can read more about this product by clicking here. Visit our showroom at 1264 S. Grant Avenue, Loveland or contact us to see this product and discuss the options for your project.

Shag Rugs

Another returning trend is shag; this time in rugs. We aren't seeing the endless seas of burnt orange or avocado green (along with dark paneling). The colors and yarns are beautiful! Tones are ranging from pure white to deep browns and grays. There are still fun choices, like lime green and soft pink along with jewel tones in amethyst and ruby. There are even silvery and gold fibers woven into the yarns that add a bit of luxury.
