The WOW Factor!

The WOW Factor!

Something Amazing to Make you Say "Wow"

Recently, we completed a flooring project for a client in Northern Colorado, up around the foothills area. Our client selected 3rd grade, 3.25" White Oak to match the existing floor already installed in their home. When it came to selecting a stain and finish, our clients opted to go with a natural stain and transparent finish. The idea was to enhance and highlight the natural beauty of the wood. It isn't every day that you come across a floor that has such a WOW factor. In this case, this floor had it and the results are nothing less than STUNNING!3rd grade, White Oak isn't a selection you see every day, because it offers more variation in the wood and more character in the grain.

You see more knots, shorter boards and more mineralizing throughout the wood. All of these features give the wood a more rustic, imperfect, and refurbished look. The overall characteristics in this floor also come in handy when disguising general wear on your floors over the years.Along with the unique features of this floor, our clients chose to create a wood inset "rug" in their dining-room. This gave the room a more formal, one-of-a-kind, feel while also adding beauty. The border wood was placed on a 45 diagonal with 2 small trim pieces on either side. The hardwood used in the inside of the "rug" continued in the same direction as the other wood in the house. Because this home was more traditional in layout, keeping the wood in one direction opened up the floor plan and created a cohesive design.
